Privacy Policy

This policy applies to Scooch on the web (playscooch.com) and the Scooch iOS app on the Apple App Store.

Plain English summary. Scooch does not require an account. We do not collect your name, email, location, or any personally identifiable information. We use anonymous analytics to understand how the game is used across all players.

Information stored on your device

The following are stored locally on your device and are not transmitted to us:

Your current game state and history.
Your theme and display preferences.
A randomly-generated anonymous identifier used to send anonymous analytics signals.

These stay on your device. You can clear them by clearing site data (web) or by deleting the app (iOS).

Anonymous analytics

We use the privacy-friendly analytics service TelemetryDeck to analyze usage data. Signals include events such as starting and solving a game. Each signal carries non-identifying context such as the game level, your device type and operating system, browser, language and region, and accessibility settings. We also record whether you opened Scooch from an installed icon, and the site that linked you here (only the site’s name, such as “google.com”, never the full address or anything you searched).

TelemetryDeck does not collect personal data and does not store IP addresses. There is no advertising identifier collected, no cross-app or cross-site tracking, and no profile is built about you. TelemetryDeck’s own privacy practices are described here.

What we do not collect or use

We do not require sign-in or accounts.
We do not show advertising.
We do not request the App Tracking Transparency permission on iOS, and we do not collect the advertising identifier (IDFA).
We do not access your camera, microphone, photos, contacts, location, calendar, or health data.
We do not use Apple Game Center, iCloud sync, or push notifications.
We do not offer in-app purchases.
We do not sell, rent, or share user data with third parties.

Your rights

We don’t collect identifiable data, so the only thing to clear is your local game data:

Web: clear site data for playscooch.com in your browser settings.
iOS: delete the Scooch app from your device.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time, for example to reflect new features.
